John H. Knab, MD

Pain Management Physician & Regenerative Medicine Specialist

Meet Dr. Knab – North Carolina’s specialist in non-surgical solutions for spine and joint pain. For the past 24 years Dr. Knab has been helping patients reduce pain and restore function, bringing the joy of living without pain to thousands of people of all ages.

Since 2014 Dr. Knab has been relentless in his pursuit of knowledge in the field of regenerative medicine, combining his unique skills in interventional pain medicine with the latest techniques in the field of regenerative medicine. Dr, Knab believes in the body’s ability to heal itself. Sometimes it just needs a little push! By using a patient’s own cells, and a good measure of skill he is able to provide the body with that nudge towards healing – without drugs or surgery!

Dr. Knab has lectured extensively on the topics of Platelet Rich Plasma, Platelet Lysate and Bone Marrow Concentrate, as well as non-invasive Shockwave, Laser, and EMTT Therapy, as well as on non-surgical biologic therapies for spinal pain. He has been a featured speaker at the annual meeting for the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, and has presented at both TOBI (The Orthobiologic Institute) and IOF (Interventional Orthobiologic Foundation) annual meetings; two of the largest conferences on orthobiologics in the world.

Most recently he was section chair for spinal biologics and presented two lectures at the Regenerative Medicine Orthopedic Society (RMOS) annual meeting in Miami, FL. This is an international meeting of surgeons an interventionalists who believe in promoting healing through biology.

In 2024 Dr Knab co-authored 2 chapters in the 2nd edition of Manchikanti’s Essentials of Regenerative Medicine, the world’s most authoritative textbook on regenerative medicine. He currently serves on the editorial board for Pain Physician, and is an executive board member at TOBI. He was recently appointed Chairperson of Interventional Pain for Autologous Therapy Education and Advancement at Apex Biologics, a cutting-edge provider of regenerative medicine technology. In his free time he likes to kiteboard and make pizza, and travel with his wife and friends.

Sunil K. Arora, MD

Pain Management Physician & Regenerative Medicine Specialist

Dr. Arora has led an extraordinary and diverse professional journey. Born in India, he began his medical career after graduating in medicine. Seeking adventure and meaningful experiences, he moved to Zambia in 1982 to practice medicine, immersing himself in the unique challenges and opportunities of healthcare in Africa. In 1984, Dr. Arora relocated to the United Kingdom, where he pursued postgraduate training in Anesthesiology. His commitment to excellence led him to the United States, where he achieved board certification in Anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology in 1995.

He further honed his expertise as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. To deepen his specialization, Dr. Arora completed a prestigious Interventional Pain Management Fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio, from 1998 to 1999. In 2000, he transitioned to private practice in Wilmington, North Carolina, where he has been an integral part of the coastal medical community ever since.

Dr. Arora is renowned for his innovative approach to pain management, with a special focus on ultrasound-guided techniques, stem cell therapy, and spinal cord stimulation. Since 2015, he has introduced cutting-edge, evidence-based orthobiologic treatments to address painful spine and joint conditions. His practice treats a wide range of conditions, including neck pain, back pain, joint arthritis, tendon injuries, and sports injuries.

Dr. Arora’s comprehensive care model begins with a thorough initial evaluation, often followed by physical therapy and advanced imaging such as MRI. He employs diagnostic injections to pinpoint the root cause of pain and tailors treatment plans to maximize patients’ quality of life, striving to minimize the need for opioids and surgery whenever possible. Outside of his professional life, Dr. Arora enjoys an active lifestyle. He plays pickleball and golf, indulges in tandoori cooking, and cherishes quality time with his wife.

Mojgan B. Jones, PA-C

Regenerative Medicine Specialist

Mojgan B. Jones, PA-C, is a highly experienced medical professional with over 23 years of expertise in neurosurgery, internal medicine, and, notably, pain management. Her early career began in World Renowned Diamond Headache Clinic in Chicago, Illinois, followed by a role in neurosurgery at Northwestern Hospital. Throughout her career, Ms. Jones has developed deep proficiency in performing joint injections dealing with complex and chronic pain conditions, allowing her to offer targeted interventions that significantly improve quality of life.

Ms. Jones is a member of the Pain Society of the Carolinas, where she stays informed about the latest techniques and treatments in pain management. Additionally, her membership in the North Carolina Integrative Medicine Association reflects her commitment to blending conventional pain management with holistic, patient-centered approaches, including Functional Medicine.

In addition to her pain management expertise, Ms. Jones is certified in Biote (bioidentical hormone therapy) and is skilled in GLP-1 therapy, which contributes to weight loss and therefore osteoarthritis relief. Through this combination, she aims to offer more comprehensive, personalized care for patients suffering from chronic pain.
